This kit is perfect for my needs. I am not by any stretch of the imagination a sewing enthusiast and hardly know my way around a needle and thread. But I do have a need to sew on a button or re-attach a ruffle on my daughter's clothing every once in a while. This kit case is small (smaller than a CD case - remember those?) and well made. It has all of the primary colors, a thimble, a tape measure, scissors, needles, pins, a seam ripper, and some foil thingies that I have no idea what they are. (Remember, I started out by saying that sewing is not my thing.) This absolutely exceeds my limited needs and is compact enough not to take up a lot of space. I would recommend this product.

This kit is a great start. I will probably add a few small things (different colored buttons, more safety pins) to make it complete. One thing I will say though... I read through the reviews and saw that a few people said this item is "dollar store quality." Well, I took heed and actually went to 2 dollar stores (Dollar Tree and Dollar General) and neither one of them had a kit as good as this one! The quality of this is better and the quantity of items is definitely like 400x better. Yeah, the thimble isn't a steel thimble, but it works. I gave four stars because it's not perfect. I think more pins and colored buttons and/or additional compartments would make it perfect.
