Used this to start learning Batik and I'm not too impressed. First, because it's a paraffin blend, it smells and smokes. To get it to melt through the material well, the heat needs to be 250 at which point there are a lot of fumes and smoke, and you need REALLY good ventilation. I found that it crackled too much, which let in too much of the dye, making it so that if I did more than two color baths, there really was none of the first color left. I would have chopped this up to being a beginner, but after switching to straight beeswax, I get the nice crisp lines, nice crackle, no chemical smell/smoke, and the boil out process seems to go better.
