@@@@@ Best Web Browser for Fire TV—But Still Limited
I waited a couple of weeks before writing this review and I'm glad I did. The first version I downloaded was very clunky and crashed periodically. The latest version (1.1.2 at this writing) is much more reliable and functional. It is the only browser app I have found that actually seems to allow some reasonable web browsing on my Fire TV stick (1st generation).
That said, while the 2nd generation Fire devices may let improve the browsing experience, any kind of serious browsing still requires a device with faster processing and throughput. Currently, Firefox for AmazonTV has no synching capabilities with other devices, so all those bookmarks you have on your phone or PC are useless. But if you simply want to check something real quick, watch a Youtube video, or even make a quick Amazon purchase, this browser should fit your needs. And if Mozilla continues to develop it, it may eventually be a 5-star app! Certainly better than any alternative I have seen so far.

I'm really pleased with Firefox on my Fire TV! I am not needing a browser on my Fire TV for any other reason than to get YouTube (I have a laptop, a Fire tablet. another tablet, and an iPhone for web browsing!) ..and with Firefox it's is totally a breeze to set up and have YouTube on deck and ready to roll. When I set it up and Firefox opened, there was a button for YouTube right there, waiting for me to click on it! I find it a bit easier to navigate than the Silk browser (but I did get it too...just in case). This is great and I'm very glad to have this because YouTube will remove their app from my FireTV in January, and I really didn't want to "have" to get a Roku. Mind you, I may get one at some point...but when I'm ready, not because I'm "forced" to get one!
